01-23-2023 Risk     Open In this bid there will be certain locations that did not have get a full provider price. These locations will be estimated based on the location and the labor index we have. This may cause some variance in the bid. Time frame was short and did not have time to get providers on all sites.
01-19-2023 Meeting     Open Here is the verbiage we are using to let them know what the bid will include let me know if you have any other needs:The rates included in the pricing are the Fire Sprinkler System prices, this will include the work that needs to be done with that i.e., licenses, fire marshal, pipe replacement, time, and equipment. This will not include the general contracting work, and any other additional services that may be involved from the work that is being done for this project.

Answer
Action to What We Learned

05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Win Reasons:
o    Strong relationship between DMG and Walmart decision makers. Walmart has trust that DMG can enter new trades.
o    DMG has a good reputation with walmart for handling large projects because Walmart has one point of contact while DMG manages many providers.
o    DMG were given the large sites that needed to have GCs and needed project managed due to having FLS techs, handyman, and electricians

05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    These types of bids have to be reviewed in person by vendors – do not site unseen bid these
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Large Goshen project: We need to factor in timeline from actual fire providers – we need to understand proper engineering specs to understand cost
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Pricing was off by hundreds of thousands of dollars due to the absence of a detailed scope
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    This was project bid for an entire system replacement not a FLS RFP with hourly rates for fire extinguishers and exit signs etc so keep that in mind for future bids to identify what is included in the RFP
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Do not bid large project work for FLS without a SME
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Providers need to be National, highly qualified and be participating in the bid with DMG. The local providers do not have backup.
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Timelines are important in pricing – overnight vs daytime, holiday timelines, etc – labor rates need to reflect timelines
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Where the lines run – we may need to have electricians there. We may have to price different if we have to navigate around fixtures. Understand SoW to adjust Pricing
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Handyman need to have electrical capabilities, can do dry wall, ceiling tile etc (effects labor rates due to being forced to use highly competent handymen)
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    There are a lot of safety regulations in FLS – review those in depth and consider them while bidding.
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Johnsons controls was a competitor that was awarded some sites – they got the straight forward projects
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Hunter was the main poc in procurement then Jeremy the trade owner and back with hunter for negotiations – We are in a very healthy place with Hunter who reports to Ross. We have a level of trust with Hunter which allowed him to open up about budgets with us. They only have 20m total or 1 M per site. Our projects are at 3.2 M.
05-25-2023 09:45 AM   •    Circle back after 45 days – as we may be awarded more

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
